How to Get Here

By Train

There is a train service to Whitby that originates from Middlesborough. It's a very picturesque trip and worth while on it's own, however it is quite slow. To see train times visit National Rail. There are also steam trains running from Pickering, see NYMR.

By Bus National Express runs services to Whitby which terminate at the main bus station, information can be found here.

Arriva run buses between Middlesborough and Scarborough which also calls at the main station, more information can be found here.

From the station either take a Taxi to The Ropery or walk using the walking directions below (it's about half a mile).

Walking from the Bus / Train Station

The bus and train stations are next to each other. To find the house walk towards the old Swing Bridge (the harbour will be on your right) and cross it, take your first right down Grape Lane and turn right again onto Church Street. Walk past the Endeavour pub on your left and the Fleece on your right then go up Boulby Bank on your left (the harbour is on the right).
